See what’s going on at the Utica Zoo this summer 2025

Need something to do with the kids this summer? If you’re like us, the Utica Zoo wasn’t always at the top of our list until we realized how many events and exhibits it offers. Not only is it a great way to get outside and see some cool animals, but the zoo hosts a ton of great events for adults and families.

Ready to learn more? Want to see what’s happening at the Utica Zoo this summer? Check out the list below.

The Utica Zoo is hosting Dino Discovery from May 24 to October 19. Presented by the Flemma Group at Baird, the presentation has over a dozen animatronic dinosaurs throughout the zoo with special landscaping. You’ll experience themed events, educational programs, and daily dinosaur presentations. Regular admission includes the Dino Discovery.  

Also, every Thursday from July 10 to August 28, the zoo has extended hours for Dino Nights. Each week, you’ll enjoy live music, food, animal exhibits, and beverages. Dino Nights is family-friendly and included with regular admission.

Need a unique date night idea? On June 7, from 6 PM to 9 PM, the Utica Zoo hosts Wine in the Wilderness. Enjoy samples of great New York State wineries. City Liquors will provide samples of wines and seltzer to help you find your next favorite wine. Also, sample food from one of the area’s amazing food trucks and enjoy live music.

This is a 21+ event, and ID will be checked for admission.

Join the Utica Zoo for its annual Brewfest on August 3, from 6 PM to 9 PM. The first 2,000 people get a commemorative pint glass. You’ll enjoy over 120 craft beers, seltzers, ciders, and malt beverages included with your admission.

While tasting, enjoy live music and samples provided by the area’s best food trucks. Take a chance ot the silent auctions where you can try to win gift certificates, electronics and other great prizes. Water and soda are provided around the zoo for non-drinkers or to help you pace yourself.

Registration for Zoo Camp is open. The Utica Zoo offers a unique learning experience for kids of all ages based on STEAM activities, encouraging the kids to work together. Also, kids will enjoy animal encounters, meet and greets, crafts, and more. Pre-registration is required.
