Numerous Mohawk Valley arts organizations are getting funds to help with expansions and facelifts. The New York State Council on the Arts’ Capital Project Fund awarded $86 million to 134 projects across the state. The funds help non-profit arts and culture organizations with improvements and expansions. The goal is to strengthen NY’s arts and culture infrastructure and economy.
Organizations are split into three categories to determine how funds are distributed:
- Small and Midsized Capital Improvement Grants, which ranged from $10,000 to $2 million
- Capital Design Grants, which ranged from $50,000 to $500,000 and supported mid-stage and advanced design documents to advance capital projects
- Large Capital Improvement Grants, which ranged from $2 million to $10 million and focused on large-scale capital projects dedicated to community development and placemaking
About 75% of the awards go to organizations with budgets under $3 million. Do you want to see how the funds were distributed in the Mohawk Valley?
