📰Good news this week in the 315📰

Great news for Utica's Harbor Point! eBliss Global, a company specializing in e-bikes, is opening a new facility at 20 Harbor Point Rd. This move, fueled by the surging demand for e-bikes, will see an investment of over $4 million, creating 40 new jobs and aiming to produce 15,000 bikes in its first year. Chosen for Utica's strong community, work ethic, and strategic location, the facility is set to begin operations in the third quarter of this year, supported by half a million dollars in tax credits from Empire State Development. This is a fantastic step for our local economy and a testament to Utica's growing appeal! See the original story on WKTV

We have some heartwarming news for our local youth! Kamp Connections, the inclusive summer camp at the Kelberman Center, recently received a generous $12,000 grant from the Edwin J. Wadas Foundation. Located at Camp Ronald McDonald in Sauquoit, Kamp Connections offers a wonderful experience for campers of all abilities, with activities ranging from outdoor games and swimming to arts and crafts and music. This grant will help ensure even more children ages five to 18 in Oneida and Herkimer counties can access these fantastic sports, fitness, and recreational programs, thanks to the Edwin J. Wadas Foundation's commitment to our community's youth. See the full story on WKTV.

Great news for school safety in New York! New legislation has been signed into law to better protect students, staff, and visitors during sudden cardiac emergencies. The new law mandates that all schools develop a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP) as part of their existing safety protocols. This plan will ensure schools are prepared to respond rapidly to incidents of sudden cardiac arrest at any school facility or school-sponsored event, including athletic programs. It also encourages coordination with local emergency medical services, provides clear procedures for incidents at school events, encourages training in CPR and AED use for staff, and aligns school response plans with local EMS protocols. This is a crucial step in strengthening safety measures and maximizing lifesaving outcomes in our schools. See the full story on WKTV.
