📰News this week in the 315
After nearly a decade of community building through free Monday night concerts, the Levitt AMP concert series is coming to an end after the 2025 season. The series is at the end of a three-year grant, which has provided for 60 music acts, many interns, employed artistic members of the community, and given the city a great way to utilize Kopernik Park. Other local organizations, like the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, also offer funding to the series. We’re excited to see what’s next for Utica Monday Nights. There’s still time to enjoy the shows this year.
Little Falls has a new pizza spot to talk about. On Wednesday, the 16th, Nonna Marie Wood Fired Oven at Stone Mill will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting celebration. Formerly Mangia Macris, Nonna Marie’s opens at 11 AM on Wednesday and will offer pizza samples, merchandise, gift certificate deals, and more. Check them out at 410 Canal Place in Little Falls.
“Pink at the Park” is coming back to Murnane Field to help raise money for local cancer survivors. The Utica Blue Sox teamed up with Hannaford Supermarkets and the American Cancer Society for their July 21st game. The team will wear pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting local cancer survivors. The game opens with a special recognition ceremony celebrating local survivors.
There’s a lot of road work this week. One of the biggest announcements is that the intersection of 12B and College St. in Clinton will close on July 14 for approximately 4 weeks. Detour signs will be set up, but plan accordingly. Here’s a list of other road work to help plan your travel.
